Settled in Seattle

We arrived in Seattle on Sunday and quickly settled into our apartment, our home for the next 3 weeks.  We rented a little one bedroom in the Belltown area of downtown.  It is a densely populated neighborhood located along the waterfront.  There are plenty of restaurants, boutiques, night clubs, residential towers, and of course coffee shops.

It’s easy to be lazy in Seattle, especially when it rains, but we’ve been venturing out each day rain or shine, starting each day working out in our apartment building’s gym.  After being on the road for so long, we welcome sleeping in, eating in and cooking our own meals.  In the past 5 days we have only eaten out once for lunch.  Our foodies picture followers should not worry, we will be eating out plenty while in Seattle.

On Monday we hiked to Volunteer Park, a 2 1/2 mile uphill hike from our apartment.

On Wednesday we drove to the Washington Park Arboretum, walked throughout the trails enjoying the gorgeous fall foliage, and had lunch in the Madison Park neighborhood. Wednesday night was spent in front of the TV nervously watching game seven of the WS. Way to go Giants!

We are very much looking forward to a visit from Emily this weekend.  We will all be attending the Raiders/Seahawks game on Sunday; weather forecast is dry and partly sunny, that’s the good news.

Until then we will enjoy the sunsets from our balcony:

Maybe you will bring the Raiders luck🏈. If you see Marc give him a kiss for me.
