La Jolla……..A Joya

Sunday morning we woke early, checked out of the Westin, and sped off to La Jolla so we could pick up some groceries and catch the Superbowl.  We checked into our home for the next 2 weeks just in time for kick-off.

Our place is nicely located in the middle of La Jolla Village, right next to the La Jolla Cove Beach. The unit has great ocean views, a wonderful kitchen, and a steam room. What more does one need?

Monday through Wednesday we got into our wake-up, work-out, take a steam & shower, eat in, go for a walk, make dinner, watch a show or a game, and go to sleep mode. With this in our backyard, the time outside has been special:

talk about your prime real estate!

Thursday we attended the opening round of the Farmer’s Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course, right here in La Jolla.  Since we didn’t get to see Phil Mickelson (Robin’s favorite golfer) at the Waste Management Open last week, we decided to follow his group around the course this week.  This worked out well as we got to see Jason Day, Justin Johnson, and Justin Rose in the group preceding Mickelson’s group which included Jimmy Walker and Bill Haas.

Hard to believe we have attended 4 golf tournaments this trip (and the Cubs didn’t win any of them!).

We finished the day with an incredible dinner at Jimmy V’s…thanks kids! Great Hanukkah gift!

Friday and Saturday we joyfully returned to our La Jolla routine.  Looks like we will need to replace our running shoes pretty soon.
